Default Roof Rack for 2012 Super Crew

I've looked at the other threads. I bought what I was told by a salesman at Scheels was required to put a Yakima rack system on my F150. The Q122 clips for the Q Towers don't appear to be a good fit. They seem to interfere with the door closing at the top. I have seen pics on here that show Yakima and Thule racks. Can someone tell me what Yakima Q clips they used to get a good fit?Yakima informed me that they do not fit a 2012 F150???

Default Did you find the right clip?

Did you ever find the right clip? I was going to order the Q122 clips for my 2012 Screw... that's what etrailer.com recommends... but I thought I'd check here first. Also saw that some people used the 114 clips, but that's what's needed for older F150's. Have you tried different positions for the clips? I thought I saw a post that said they got a better fit moving the clips to a position other than what was recommended. Thanks for any and all feedback!

I just talked to Yakima yesterday about the clips. They told me that they had to stop recommending the Q122 because of the fit issues. They are currently working on a new clip.

From all the reviews I read, most recommended the Thule 480R racks due to Yakima's problem fit. Even the Thule is less than perfect.

Roof rack? That's why you have a pick up bed, silly.

Well, I have two kayaks I'd like to get out of the bed so I can have a place to put the rest of my gear. I don't even have room for a cooler with two boats back there, and no trip is complete without that!

I had Yakima bars from my old ride but they wouldn't recomend the Q122 clip for my 2010 SCrew so I spent more money and bought the Thule set up. They seem to fit OK. I need them to carry by 12' aluminum boat when pulling a 29' travel trailer. I've seen another F150 SCrew with the same Thule racks with 3 canoes tied to his. I should mention also I made my own rack built on the box bed rails to distribute the load so it wasn't all over the cab.

Good luck with your selection.

Default Yakima Rack for 2012 SCREW

I just went to the Yakima site and now it recommends the Q150F clips for the 2009-2014 F150 SCREWS... anybody have personal experience with those?
