here is a picture I just took.. Driver side, clearly. You can see one set of holes I taped with gorilla tape. Looking more towards the front you can kind of see some more hole locations I taped. Under you can see the seams that are used for draining.. There is some fluid film sprayed in there (the yellow you're seeing)

UPDATE...Went to the dealership Friday for an oil change and had the dealer body shop look at the rust holes. They found 2 areas on the passenger side rusted all the way through, and one area on the drivers side with water under the paint. After talking with the body shop, my sales rep, and the service manager they are going back to Ford to try and get the repairs covered under Fords Paint and Corrosion Warranty (5 years). Build date on the truck is July 30th, 2012. Most likely put into service 3 months after that, so they think I should be covered. The body shop manager told me if it's approved, they will cut out the rocker panels on both sides and replace with new. I was very surprised but pleased with the way the dealership handled the issue. Now It's a waiting game until they hear back from Ford. I'll update with more details when they call me back.

Thanks! I'll watch mine now that I know what to look for. Good luck on warranty claim!

UPDATE - Dealership called me back to set up an appointment for this Friday. They are going to take detailed pictures of the truck to send into ford to get the repairs approved. Will update after Fridays appointment.

I have a 2012 Scab with the exact same issue. I am meticulous about maintaining my truck and I bought it new. This has more to do with water leaking in from either the back window seam or 3rd brake light, i.e. bad design/manufacturer defect, than neglected maintenance or a lack of cleaning. I too was shocked that this could happen to a 4 year old truck with 48k miles. My dealer said I should have no issues getting mine done under warranty. I bought my truck in September of 2012. I will be taking it in around July to have the repair done.

On page 2 I posted pics of my passenger rocker: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/2012-r...352445/index2/

That was in August of last year when I first saw it when I was drying my truck after washing. It's exponentially worse now and I could easily put my finger though it. My driver side isn't' there yet which is why I am waiting to schedule my appointment.

I'll post updates after tomorrow, good luck with yours...my dealership has been great with the warranty work and I'm hoping to get everything resolved soon.

Update.

So they are going to cover the repairs under the paint and corrosion warranty. The service manager said it was the worst case of rocker rust he's seen over the last 10 years. Dealership was super nice about getting everything taken care of. They said the repairs would take around a week but its a small price to pay compared to having it fixed out of pocket. I had little faith at the beginning but was glad everything worked out. Sometimes all you have to do is a little research, thanks to all for the advice.
