Much like caperj, I am planning mounting these lights under the back for reverse lights: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111116221426...S:1123&vxp=mtr

I'm just not sure if that would be bright enough to use as a work light as well. It's definitely a cool looking product though.

OK, here is mine installed. As you can see in the pics, small in size, low profile, nice stainless steel bracket and hardware, and PLENTY of light output. I wanted a small package that had good power, looked around and settled on these for quality and price, very satisfied.

Have them wired to come on with reverse in normal mode and a manual override switch in the bed to turn them on for working lights anytime.

Those aren't too bad! I sure wish they were thinner though...I am trying to picture them on my platinum. How clear is the backup camera with them on? Are they too bright for the camera or are they just rght?

Awesome! I have a set of the white ones on the way for my truck. Now I'm pumped to get them on

Just wanted to share my experience with the OP so he could see what low profile floods below the bumper do verses something on or around the license plate. by keeping the light source below the bumper, you will not washout the image of the camera. If any direct light source hits the lens, you are washed out, just like any other digital camera.

Shockwave88, not hard to install, but wiring can be tricky depending on how you want them to work. What I did was an exercise in wiring and electronics, but you could simply tap the reverse light wire to the trailer harness and ground to make them come on with reverse, they are low enough wattage to power straight off that, but if you want manual control too like I did, better to use relays. I have my wiring diagram available if anyone wants to use it, works perfect.

Princevaluim, they really are smaller than they look in the pic, again, out of everything I looked at, these are the lowest profile light with good power I could find, and the price is reasonable too. If you look at the actual dimensions on the link I provided, you'll see what I mean. You'll be hard pressed to find anything lower profile in LED with this kind of lighting horsepower. They come powder coated in either black or white....I am sure you could have them color match painted as well if you preferred. The light level is great for the camera, I have no issues seeing anything to backup now. I will try and get a pic of the image, but it is really good and plenty bright to use as work lights behind the truck for loading equipment or messing with your trailer.

BrowningSCrew, you will like them! Very nice product well built, never got anything that wasn't excellent from superbriteleds.com.

Default wiring diagram for reverse with manual override

This has both bed lighting and backup lighting shown, but you can run just backup lighting with this same design, just ignore the bed lighting connections and wiring.

Also of note, I did redundant fusing to add protection from both ends of the circuits, one set of fuses right at the battery connection and another set back at the tail light compartment close to the loads, so there is actually 4 fuses, 2 for each circuit.

If you can't read the diagram well enough on the post and want a copy of the actual 11x17 PDF print I made, PM with an e-mail address and I'll send you a copy.
