I have a bad ballast on the 2013 f150 and have a couple spares for a ds1 bulb. The plugs are correct and they are 35w osram ballast. It would just save me 250 bones to buy a new one. They apear to be almost the same just the voc whatever that means is 85 vs 42.

I have plenty of OEM D3S '13 ballasts on hand...as well as the OEM D3S HID bulbs. The ballasts are very specific to D3S bulbs and I highly recommend you don't use the ones for D1S. PM me if you are interested in buying a pair. They are all brand new, never used.

iRub1Out & Billinvic etc, I'm very pleased with your willingness to help trouble shoot and share advice and acquired knowledge, very thankful, but I'm done. I want my trouble free halogens back.
So, my advice to is not to DIY, but lesson learned, pay the professionals to do what they do best.
Billinvic, if I hadn't already spent the money attempting all this on my own, spent approx $550/600 through TRS with extra bulbs, shipping to canada etc... I would ask you to make me a retro,
I should know better! Running a masonry crew (bricklayers), you get what you pay for! You want to say couple hundred dollars labor on a fireplace? It will look like garbage in comparison. Why wouldn't I have realized that? Hmmm.

Kudos to you Joel_980 for having the guts to go forth and do your retrofit. I remember my first pair and it was a steep learning experience and it wasn't 100% successful either.
I wish you could have made it work, but I certainly understand your frustration.
Happy New Year
