Wow sounds like my luck. If it weren't for bad luck I would have no luck at all. That sucks man!

Done! (For the most part). My replacement pair of bulbs arrived today from TRS, so I threw it in the housing and fired them up. The new bulb twisted on much easier than either of the bulbs that came with the FXR kit, so I don't know what's up there. Unfortunately, the halos aren't working yet as one of them is blown. Tried hooking it directly to a battery (thought there was a bad connection) and it still wouldn't fire, so I'll be going through warranty with that. HOPEFULLY it's just the voltage regulator or whatever they call it, because I don't want to have to crack the headlight open again to replace the halo. That's what happens in my nightmares.

But for now, I just have the bulbs themselves hooked up, and man they are awesome! I love watching the cutoff and beam shine on whatever surface I'm close to. I CANNOT wait for my night drive tonight!! They are such an improvement over the stock glade candle bulbs, it's unbelievable.

how did I miss this earlier?! They look awesome, and i imagine they perform even better than they look!! Get those halos working, can't wait to see them finished completely!!!

Plus, I absolutely love the look of the chrome buckets and black shrouds.. Wishing I went that route right about now..

I texted pics to my dad, now he wants a set. Now I'm probably doing the whole thing over again.. His will go smoother though. I wish I knew then what I know now. Oh well, I provoked him by sending him this pic:

I was very, very close to painting the buckets black. You know, kinda glad I didn't! I love how from a distance the buckets actually look like a very high gloss black! I love the grey that the plastidip smoke made in the inserts. Very happy with the outcome. Now if I could just get those halos working..

Stay tuned, night output pics are coming later on tonight!

Went out into some back road in the middle of nowhere at 11:30 at night to take some night shots.

Night output:

Not obnoxious at all. Standing at the height of a car. Love the color flicker

Siiick. I have been off the grid for a week and look what I missed! Sorry about all your troubles with the build but they look great.

I may have some extra time on my hands this summer...

Well hurro! We've missed your retrofit expertise!

I'm happy with the build quality. Unfortunately I got bad luck of the draw and had (have) some issues. Turns out the halo problem is just a blown driver on one side. Now I've got some condensation & moisture issues in both lights. I'm thinking it's the factory rubber boots on the back. One light only gets condensation inside, the other has had water pooling in the bottom. Opened both and resealed, same issue. But we have been in the rain-pocalypse this week, so who knows. Ill probably order some boot caps from TRS and go from there.

The inconvenience has been well worth it!
