More than likely. General consensus is that the EvoX-R's "bolt right in". This is only a partial truth from what I've found so far. The reflector bowl on the new projector itself needs to be modified a hair as well as the need to do some clearance work inside the bucket in order to make them bolt directly in to the where the factory projector did. Nothing major but it would have been nice to know beforehand, since I've not seen anyone mention this. I've got some pictures of this and I'll be sure to document whenever the project gets back on track.

The only advice I can give is to take your time. I got impatient after spending about 30 minutes on the light which is probably why I broke the lense. The passenger's side had the butyl seal and was much easier to take apart (hence why I didn't damage that one). Also 250 seems to be a little too hot, noticed today the driver's side also had some stress cracks pop up in a few places on the lense. Did the passenger's side @ 200 and it wasn't like that.

Will also probably document how my wires were ran and show my block-off plate and etc since I couldn't ever find any shots of those either.

If the result ends up as good as I think it will, it will definitely be worth the hassle. My main issue was I didn't take my time. Had I taken more time and had multiple heat cycles, I wouldn't have gotten in this mess. Passenger's side was already damaged so nothing I could have done there.

As long as you don't severely damage the HID bucket and bezel/shroud you can always just buy some used halogens for cheap and use the lense from those if you do damage the lense.

Been driving around with my stock halogens for over a week now and its ridiculous how poor the light output is. My fogs light up more of the road than they do.

I see, well that is good to know, if your more patient I guess less issues. Prob still best to have some backups, what I wonder about is sealing afterwards as well, let me know how she turns out and all the best.

So still waiting on new lenses to come in and my c-clamp leds didn't come with wiring instructions so I need to contact Diode Dynamics tomorrow, but a few mock-up output shots for everyone's pleasure. All I can say is WOW. This is definitely going to be worth it.

Low beams:

Front:


Just a few notes, the frontal picture is before they were aimed and were about 6" high. The others were aimed at about 40" @ 25', which is 2" below my reference line of 42". This doesn't account for my level or 35's so judging from how extremely bright these are I may very likely aim them down another 4".

I wouldn't describe the process as difficult...but rather very tedious. I've been taking images and will likely detail the process when I have everything buttoned up. Testing LEDs today.

In my opinion this has been my 2nd least favorite mod to do, first being installing headers in my driveway. Results will be worth it though.
