Default Retro Fit Black OEM HIDs on XLT

Hi All,

Just thought if anyone was interested that I'd share my latest upgrade on my 2014 Ruby Red XLT to the Black OEM HID setup. I looked for posts like this before doing the upgrade and didn't find any so here you go. I'm planning on an FX4 paint matched grill setup next. (Sorry for the dirty truck)

Let me know what you think!

Looks good! I did the opposite as you as I changed out my XLT grille for the FX grille before changing the headlights, lol. Next is the FX or Raptor HIDs since mine came with the chrome HIDs. Being that my truck is Sunset Metallic, I thought I was going to have to buy a PTM grille, but luckily I found a perfect condition FX grille already painted sunset (with 100 miles on it) on eBay for $300 shipped.

I would love to get a hold of that chrome with black plastic in lol. Looks great, I'm just no longer a fan of chrome.

Default RE - Black HID Retrofit

Thanks everyone!

I really like seeing what other guys do to their trucks as well, they all look awesome. Plus, it helps me think I'm not actually crazy like my gf likes to tell me after every change / upgrade

Finding an FX grill already painted RR would be amazing and I'm pretty sure my Credit Card would get dinged right away if one came available in the right color. Same for the painted bumpers. I also have the smooth handles painted in my garage ready to install. Once I get those things done, I'll be selling my almost new PVD Chrome 20x10 Fuel Hostage wheels and possibly tires too as I'm thinking of going to 37s.

I know, I know....why didn't I just buy an FX? Well, I wanted to keep the bench to be able to haul six people if needed... other than that? Price. This model was a steal so I had to do it!

Please send more pics of HID conversions and PTM parts added!

What fog lights are you using? They look like a very close match to the factory HID's. Is it a 4300k HID kit? Or something else?

Wow, what a stance! Your truck is perfect, I wouldn't change another thing. Trucks are supposed to have chrome on them

If you do go painted bumpers you'll want flares and flaps with all that poke you've got goin on.
