Default Resonator delete sound comparison?

Hey guys,

Wondering how much of a sound increase I would get if I deleted my resonator (i.e. 25% more, 50% more, etc).

I just had a single in double out borla x-series muffler installed & I love the sound, U just wish it was a bit louder. I have a K&N air intake and its hard to hear the exhaust over the intake when I punch it. I kept the resonator in because I didn't want it too loud but now I am thinking of pulling it out. Anyone else take it out after their muffler swap that can compare the difference?

As always, thanks in advance!

When I installed my Solo Mach-X kit, I took out the resonator. Personally, I love the sound. At idle and cruising speeds, you can hear a faint rumble cab and under acceleration it sounds aggressive. I can't imagine the sound being any louder than maybe 25-30% without it. Not sure how much drone you may have with the Borla though. I had a Borla S setup on my old Jeep SRT8 and it had a noticeable drone inside.

I want to change out my muffler but I do not want any drone. You Tube does not have many videos with guys who kept the resonator.

Ditch it... I tried with it and without also with just the resonator. Without and an aftermarket muffler is best.

Replaced my stock with the Super 40 and it sounded good, but two days ago I had the resonator removed. She screams now, it's almost at the point of being absurdly loud in tight quarters from echoing but who cares it's a truck. This is on a 3.7 - I'm sure the 5.0's would sound like a monster truck. Ditch the resonator you won't regret it.

It's relatively cheap to buy the pipe without the resonator, try it and if you don't like it I'm sure you could sell it with minimal loss

Borla XR-1 in place of stock muffler with resonator still installed. I'm debating on taking the resonator out.

I think it sounds good. Do you get a drone at highway speeds? I love the gunshot in the beginning.lol. You have a model number on the muffler?
Thanks for posting
