Default replacing door handle with keypad handle

I was just wondering if any of you guys know if i got a complete door handle assembly with the keypad in it if i could install it and take it to the dealer and have it programmed? I called the dealership that i got the truck from and he told me he honestly wasn't sure.

It is a 2011 xlt screw

Thanks for any help!
Matt

have them do the whole install. there are many problems associated with programming. fortunately, my brother hooked me up. he works for ford. imo, i would have them do it. if they tell you they can't do it, tell them you will call ford CS and tell them they cannot fix it. pretty sure you will get what you want.

no i haven't found out any more info. I've kind of given up on the matter for the present moment with so many other things I have going on. Wish I could get a definite answer from one of the local dealers but they seem to not really care.

Yes you can. From what I read on another forum it will need to be programmed to work on a 2011.That bites because it will probably cost ya.
I added Lincoln Mark LT handles w/keypad on my 06 XLT that didn't come with a keypad and it was plug and play.No programming involved.

The code is on the SJB.On my 06 it was mounted on the back wall of the cab.I had to remove the rear seat back to get to it.
On 2011s the SJB is located behind the passenger kick panel.
Or you can go to the dealer and have them pull the code from the truck's computer. But it will probably cost you.
This is what it looks like behind the kick panel.

I think that is for the stick on style key pad, not the factory style installed in the door handle.

Yes the instructions I provided the link are for the stick on pad. I thought it might be the same though. Thanks for catching that so I did not take the OP on a wild goose chase by supplying bad info.
