Default Replace heads?

Good evening.

Has anyone had their heads replaced after getting the tuliped valves?
I was looking at remans from local parts stores.
I am just at a loss of what direction to go.
My engine just has low compression in #8 when cold at idle 5.0L.
I don't get any others when warm.
Forgot to mention 165,000 miles.

Thank you for reading.

From my understanding on this it is usually cheaper to just replace the heads rather than having your originals rebuilt. Machine work on the 5.0s is very costly from everything I’ve heard.

That's exactly what i thought and leaning towards, new from Ford are on backorder for a bit.
It still runs great warm, just rough cold idle.
Thank you.
