Default Rental Question with Warranty Work

Well my truck is in the shop for at least the foreseeable future, I was offered a rental but I have to pay the "taxes" on the rental daily. This total comes out to be around $6 a day. Is this normal? My truck is still under the Ford warranty and not an aftermarket warranty.

I just had warranty work done on my truck and was given a rental. Ford covered the cost of the rental. I have a Ford extended warranty on a 2010 vehicle so I paid $100 deductable for the work.

I just had warranty work done under the factory warranty, 4 days in the shop, they would not pay for my rental. I would have gladly paid $6/day for the taxes.

Local dealer had my truck for a week to do some warranty work and covered the entire rental bill.

See if your auto insurance covers a rental.

If not, its only 6$/Day

Even if you have Rental Reimbursement on your auto insurance (which everyone should unless you have access to spare vehicles) it only pays for the rental if your vehicle is out of commission due to a covered loss (like a collision or deer claim). It does not pay due to mechanical/breakdown issues.

Default Rental Question with Warranty Work

Not every Ford warranty is the same. Initially mine was to only cover a rental car if the truck was being worked on for over 24hrs. I ended up paying a bit more to not have to wait 24hrs.
I used it this way once and all was fine. Not a dime out of my pocket for the rental.
Now. Need to take my truck in for an A/C blend door actuator and the same dealer told me I would have to pay for the rental upfront and would be reimbursed. BS.

How does your dealer do the rental car charges when it's covered by your Ford ESP warranty ?

6$ a day is a pretty small amount. I can't believe they are charging you for it.

Seems like a cheap move on their part.

Why exactly is your truck at the shop?

Long story short, Cylinder 1 has no compression. It is not the spark plug or coil. The truck is throwing all sorts of codes they say and from what I am lead to believe at this point after talking with other members on here, they are approaching the point of replacing the engine.

It's 6$/day. Pay it. You are getting a new engine..
