Removing stock fender flares
If I remove my stock FX4 fender flares, will the fender underneath be fine without them, or will there be holes or anything? I'd like to take them off and leave them off for a while until I can get some painted ones. Is it just a normal fender underneath?

There will be mounting holes underneath your stock flare..... will it hurt anything no. It will just look unappealing to the eye, till you get them painted.

Are the holes for mounting the flares? I assume so. I've seen ebay paintable flares but they only attach on the lip. Any ideas on factory type ones that would use the existing holes?

Yes, the factory flares use the holes for mounting. All the aftermarket ones i have seen use clips and screws in your existing holes around the wheel well lip.

I did what you want to do and it looked so much better, but it was last year. There is a write up or two for the 04-08 trucks on this site, and its the same procedure for 09-14 trucks
