Default Remove headliner on my 14 crew cab

So my rear cargo lights do not work and there is no power going to them. the bulbs are not burnt out so I was going to tear into the headliner and see where the break is. Does anyone know how to either take the headliner out without removing the rear window. If I dont have to fully remove the headliner thats fine too but if so will i have enough room to check the wires or will this damage the headliner.

Did you check the fuse?

The back window doesn't have to come out to drop the headliner. If you remove the side trim and rubber door molding(supercrew) you can pull down the rear of the headliner.

Yes I checked the fuse. The brake lights work just not the cargo

If I were a betting man, I would bet that the cargo lights and brake lights are on different circuits/fuses. Did you check Fuse 12 in the fuse panel behind the right kick panel? It looks to power the interior lighting, puddle lamps, and the cargo light.

Nope fuse is good it’s 15 amp. Do your puddle lights come on when you open the door only or do they run when your driving too. The reason I ask I because I replaced the mirrors with tow mirrors and the tow mirrors I believe have puddle lights. But if not then could that be a break in the circuit meaning that the carg lights don’t get power? Or should that not affect them

It looks like the puddle lamps are spliced in to the same circuit, if that splice is damaged it could affect the cargo lights.

It shouldn’t be because then wouldn’t the puddle would lights not work. Also it was a plug and play for the mirrors.

Rnlcomp What would be the best way to go about testing where the break in the connection is?
