Check the hood switch, open the hood and locate the rubber accordion boot on the driver fender about mid way, disconnect the electrical connector and inspect for pushed out pins/corrosion repair/clean as needed and reconnect, close the hood and try again.

Do you have an CEL illuminated? low on gas? low oil life? I have had the remote start no go when I had a CEL.

So I purchased a '13 platinum last Thursday 2/2/17. Only thing that didn't work on the truck was remote start. Made a deal with the sales mgr. that he either dropped the price $500, or had it fixed before I would take delivery.

He accepted the challenge to have it fixed (hoping it would cost less than $500).

They took the truck to a Ford dealer in town that day at 3:00 PM. Here we are after 2 1/2 working days and not fixed. When calling the salesperson, he stated the service writer told him she thinks the problem is, the truck didn't come from the factory with remote start! LOL.

Apparently, the tech has been on the phone with Ford trying to figure it out.

The lack of knowledge of a service writer and her ignorant response is icing on the cake.

Remote start was "Standard equipment at no additional charge" on Platinums. Not to mention, both keys have the remote start button.

Can't wait to see how this turns out...

When activating my remote start at the dealer, I had to actually go back into the service bay and show the tech how to program the truck with the IDS, SMH!

What is your truck doing when trying to remote start?
1. Nothing
2. Lights flash and horn sounds
3. Lights flash, truck tries to start, fails and then the horn sounds
4. Truck explodes

That's the other thread: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/remote...orscan-372231/

For this thread, Rnlcomp replied to the OP with a fix that resolved his issue.
I was replying to BrentC5Z's issue with his new (to him) truck.
