Is there anyway to extend the range of the factory remote start?

No other than going up to another series.... Such as from the 100 to the 200, or from the 200 to the Remote Access version!

What exactly is that module? The page doesn't give a description.

Default Remote Start

I only have the factory 100 series. I've always been happy with it's range. I seem to be lucky, in that it has consistently started, from 30 yards.
I hear other stories of 20 ft max.
Anyways while my truck was only 6 months old since I had bought it. It was more like 9 months according to its build date.
Enough rambling....what I'm trying to say is that, I put a new 'Duracell' battery in both of them and it pumped new life into those remotes all around. They reacted quicker and most definitely gained another 20/30 ft.

You can always upgrade to the Two way remote start, mine has a range of about 1/2 a mile when I have a clear line of sight or 1/4 mile with obstructions.

I can start my truck 1,000ft away from inside of my office building.

Here are the parts that you will need.

DL3Z-19A361-A Vehicle Security System - Ford Perimeter Plus
DL3Z-15603-C Vehicle Security System - Upgradeable, Bi-Directional Remote Start Antenna Kit
DL3Z-15K601-A Remote Start System - Key Fobs, Bi-Directional, Programmable for VSS

Since you already have remote start, it should take you about 10-15 minutes to install and program it. Look around for best prices.
As a bonus, you also get the Ford Vehicle Security System with shock sensor.

All true but, ..the whole point of the oem system or series 100 is not having to carry an extra fob, the 100 is built into the key head. I have no problem sacrificing range for the latter, at least for me as I'm not far from my truck either at home or work, adding a little more range via the TSB is icing on the cake so to speak.

yes, if all you need is an extra 50-100 feet, then the TSB would be preferable.

If however you need an little more range, then the two way, is the way to go.

If you really want to go the full planet, or even start it from the ISS, than you can go with the App remote start.
