Not paying for remote start with a Mobile phone.
Seen it at Car Toys and knew up front. It was nice if you want to pay for it.
Thanks anyway.
Cardboard, You can go with the VSS alarm + Long range Remote start. It is plug an play, adds a shock sensor and has a 1,000 foot range.
Dealer quoted me $300 for the parts plus $55 for install. All ford parts, and when installed by dealer covered under the 36/36k warranty and under any ESP. Have not pulled the trigger yet, but will probably be doing it soon.

Here are the required parts:

DL3Z-19A361-A Vehicle Security System - Ford Perimeter Plus
DL3Z-15603-C Vehicle Security System - Upgradeable, Bi-Directional Remote Start Antenna Kit
DL3Z-15K601-A Remote Start System - Key Fobs, Bi-Directional, Programmable for VSS
DA8Z-15603-A Remote Start - RFR Antenna Kit Vehicle Security System - long antenna
(odd are you already have that part) BT4Z-19G366-A Remote Start System - Hood Switch Kit

Thanks

My Wife was putting gas in the truck. Locked it up while she was pumping gas.
When she got threw she used the key to open the truck instead of the button on the key.
The horn and all started blowing.
SO it has to have some kind of alarm.
I don't think it has a shock sensor.
And it don't have a remote start.

Dealership I bought my truck from quoted 800.00 for the alarm and remote start installed.
He said it was designed for ford.
I said Code alarm made it. And for a plug and play system. You are way out of the Ball Park.
You must not like your customers.
I said no.
Can't understand how anybody can quote 800.00 for an alarm with remote start.
The remote start is really a relay .

I got the same crazy quotes from several dealers... didn't want to be bothered doing it or not skilled enough to do it is what I found. Finally found the dealer that said, "ah those are easy, have you in and out in no time...$100." I already had the system from a Ford dealer on ebay. I was there less than an hour.

Simple economics, supply and demand!

People want the plug and play because there's a stigmatism that an aftermarket alarm tapped into factory wiring will fry your truck!

I got mine professionally installed, you would be hard pressed to tell what's aftermarket and what's factory, for $500 out the door.

This is amViper system that has two way feedback, tells me cabin temp, and has a great range.

I installed the ford remote acces system in my 2014 Edge and my buddy's 2014 FX4. Paid $383 for the entire system each on eBay.
All plug and play, unlimited range, $50 bucks a year and worth every penny with this brutal winter we had.

Cardboard, Ask them how much the install is if you bring in the parts.

Fairway Ford sells the kit on ebay for $280
Tasca Ford sells them separate for a total of $303+Shipping

The installation is simple, 1hr labor + programming of the remote start, I don't see that being more than $100 tops.
If they want more than $100 for install call other Ford Dealerships around.
My local dealership charges $55 for 1hr labor install + $35 to program the remote start, there is no keys to cut with this system, you get a two way remote fob.
