It appears the security function is not working. The led is blinking like it should but it did this before the dealer got the remote start working. When I shake the truck the alarm does not go off. Basically they are telling me that there are no options to change the remote start settings unless it comes from the factory that way. I suggested they call the Ford hotline and see what they say. We will see what happens.

what i noticed with my LED was it would blink non stop and at odd random rates and I couldnt get the alarm to go off at all either. The had to reset the system and reflash it.

I think your dealer is wrong though on the menu part. hopefully the hotline can straighten them out.

In fact, the remote start system was working fine when i hooked up my 200 series as i already had a working 100 series, but i needed the dealer to turn on the security portion.

What is the security portion they turn on you mention? I had my 200 series activated today at my dealer. What should I look for? Is there something in the cluster I can look at to see? Thanks

+1

I did manage to find a video that kind of shows it. The tech in video also says that below the mirror you'll get the 1000ft range and above the mirror by where it says F150 you'll get 600ft. Wonder how true that is.

What year and trim level do you have the remote start installed on?

you will only see the security portion via the LED. Did you do the install yourself? if so, you should have a shock sensor and led wire that you would have installed. If the dealer put it in for you, i would wonder where they put it.

Sorry i dont have any pics. It's -20c outside right now, not too interested in pulling the dash apart. haha . I haven't even mounted my LED yet anyways. the cable is just bunched up behind my glovebox. The antenna is just a small box mounted behind the rearview mirror and a thin flat wire heading toward to headliner.

I installed myself. I have the LED ready to mount up in the middle of the dash near the auto headlight sensor. Needed a right hand drill so that will get done tomorrow. As far as the shock sensor I mounted that up by the TPM module.
