Remote Start 200 Series Plug and Play
#11
It appears the security function is not working. The led is blinking like it should but it did this before the dealer got the remote start working. When I shake the truck the alarm does not go off. Basically they are telling me that there are no options to change the remote start settings unless it comes from the factory that way. I suggested they call the Ford hotline and see what they say. We will see what happens.

I think your dealer is wrong though on the menu part. hopefully the hotline can straighten them out.

I can't answer for sbonzai, but i can answer some of your questions.
In fact, the remote start system was working fine when i hooked up my 200 series as i already had a working 100 series, but i needed the dealer to turn on the security portion.

What is the security portion they turn on you mention? I had my 200 series activated today at my dealer. What should I look for? Is there something in the cluster I can look at to see? Thanks

End of the Earth
I did manage to find a video that kind of shows it. The tech in video also says that below the mirror you'll get the 1000ft range and above the mirror by where it says F150 you'll get 600ft. Wonder how true that is.

I will get a pic tomorrow. Its super easy, I mounted my antenna downward facing with the antenna portion sticking below the F150 black stuff on he windshield.

Sorry i dont have any pics. It's -20c outside right now, not too interested in pulling the dash apart. haha . I haven't even mounted my LED yet anyways. the cable is just bunched up behind my glovebox. The antenna is just a small box mounted behind the rearview mirror and a thin flat wire heading toward to headliner.

you will only see the security portion via the LED. Did you do the install yourself? if so, you should have a shock sensor and led wire that you would have installed. If the dealer put it in for you, i would wonder where they put it.
