I'm going to be running a light bar to 1 of 4 aux switches that ill be installing in my truck. I am going to use the raptor switch board and wire it to a relay and run light bar, bed lights etc to it. Why relay would I need? Would this be what I need? Thanks

I was considering the Raptor switches as well. But, I really like the cubby area for storage and didn't want to eliminate it.

So, I'm installing a small switch box in my truck for a compressor, back up Rigid lights, bed lights and power ports. Maybe attach it ot the side of the flow through console? Haven't decided yet.

Even though most of these circuits are low amp (except for the compressor) I'm still running all of these circuits off the battery through a Blue Sea fuse panel and individual relays for each circuit.

What is the amperage on the Rigid lights?

A standard Bosch style SPDT relay for each circuit will work fine. I had a heck of a time locating a socket that had a decent sized wire gauge for my compressor relay though.

Since I'll be using 4 relays and a fuse block, i had a heck of a time finding a place to locate them. I decide to fabridate a bracket that will bolt to the upper lip of the poly battery case. This bracket is formed to lay along the top lip and protrude towards the firewall.



The relays will bolt to the end and side of the bracket and hang down. This picture just shows them lying down on the bench;

 

I'm not sure the amp size for light bar it's not rigid it's another company in the vendor section. Ill take a look at your links. I'm not gonna b running much I jut am throwing the relay in just bc and it's gonna all be hooked up te the aux switches. I thought the 40 amp oem one that I posted would b perfect because it would fit in the dead space in the relay box and look factory?

 

Are you saying you want all the light switches to run through (1) relay?
Does the Raptor switch panel come with the relays sockets?

I like your bracket idea. I too am having difficulty locating a spot for an auxiliary fuse block and relays. Any interest in fabbing up another bracket to sell?

 

Get a fuse/relay box out of a 2000 older Mustang. The one under the hood is small, has 4 relays, more than 4 fuses and a long harness. It's cheap from the junk yard and some of them have the Ford emblem stamped into the cover.

Some models even have a diode connection. I'm planning on using one when I wire my switches. There's room for it on the passenger side firewall.

 

Sure, I get it back from the powdercoater tomorrow and will probably mock it up over the weekend. I'll send some pics.

You can give me your measurements. If you don't need the fuse power panel then the relay bracket can be minimized to one flat bar with holes for the relays

 

Identical to yours. I'll use the same fuse box that you did for simplicity. Raw steel is preferred. Thank you very much.

 

Do you want me to drill the holes into the bracket for the relays and the blue sea fuse/power box? and the holes in the bracket for the battery case mounting bolts as well?

Give me a week or so, as I'm fabricating the air tank and compressor frame mounts and installing the cargo box this weekend.
