Regret going with 35s?
Torn on tire size. I was convinced to go 285/75/18 or 35s but have more tire options at 275/70/18 33.5 and that would be closer to stock but still and upgrade.
Anyone regret going to a 35 for daily driving and mild off-roading?

I know there is NO WAY I'm putting on tires that could REDUCE my fuel mileage… end of story! It's barely acceptable now so big heavy tires are never happening on my truck. I guess for the real off road guys it's a necessary evil but not for my everyday on street driving………

Hi,
I went from 33's to 35's on my old 2005 FX4 and regretted it primarily due to the increased noise at interstate speeds and the impact to MPG's as other have mentioned.

However for many of us gas mileage is a factor. A reduction in 2 mpg is a big deal on an annual bases if you run a lot of mile. Many here NEED a truck, many want to simply drive one! Big difference because I use it's ability to haul and tow almost every time I use it.
So to those that keep saying "If you want good mileage don't buy a truck"! Well no kidding….. I say to the master of the obvious! I own one cause I NEED one and retaining decent gas mileage is one factor. I'll say it again.. I do not need to take a poor situation and make it worse……….

I do get a kick out of these replies... if you want MPG don't buy a truck! I can't wait until these guys are online years from now when you are getting 30 mpg in a truck and start complaining about power! Back in the day of muscle cars we never looked at mpg, as the ones that reply here must feel,,, but then in the early 70's the emissions killed the muscle and I remember complaining about a 69 440 making 385 hp was only making 175 hp in the mid 70's. I don't seem to understand that they don't understand that saving money no matter how is pretty much a concern for most of us... so if you need the tires mentioned then I can see that you will have to sacrifice mpg,,, but I think the OP is looking at the best option for both! But back to me not understanding,,,,, if you guys don't care about mpg then why are most of you driving around in a 5.0 or 3.5??? Get the biggest least mpg engine in your truck since you bought a truck and don't care about mpg or your wallet,,,, get the 6.2 that as for a truck,,, probably is the best option for pulling, off roading and whatever else you need or use a truck for? Just also curious,,, are all you that state this,,, are you pumping in premium fuel in the truck?? It may not increase the mpg much but is better for engine performance so I guess you are since money is no object??!!

I have no regrets because I did my homework, as long as you know you will lose mpg and have possible quicker wear issues you will have no surprises. If you don't do your research and just slap some on then you'll quickly be surpised. After you read everything you can, if you think you can live with the difference then go for it.
Factors to consider
road noise
price
MPG
rubbing/trimming
component wear (driveline stress, tranny stress...)
traction
