I can't speak for 2010, but my 2011 was $409 for plates. Here in Montana we don't have a sales tax, so they suck it out of you in other ways.....taxes on plates, and they sock it to you on property taxes too.

Just paid for for 36 months of registration for a 2006 Focus and my 2011 F150 in Texas. 3 years for $400. Moving back to California soon so I though I would stock up before the rape.

Here in Saskatchewan plates cover insurance also, i know that's not the case in all places. I just renewed mine and know they went down abit from this but for the last year i paid 1449$, but it lists just registration as 68$. Althought the insurance covered under our plates is not the greatest so i also have other insurance considered a package policy and its 378$ a year, but it has cost replacement for the first 3 years(which my trade-in was included in the price of my new truck, so its a win win for me).

HOLY CRAP!!! I'm glad I'm keeping my permanent address in Texas when I move to Colorado. I'm not sure on my Harley, but I was not happy about paying to $60-70/yr on my Armada.
