Regearing the rear end

I am wanting to change out the rear end gears on my 13 XLT Screw.

Any ideas and referral on which gears to go with would be greatly appreciated.

What gearing do you have now? What do you intend to do with the re-geared truck?

4x4 or 4x2 (goes to whether or not you need to do fronts and rears or rears only).

Truck is 4x4. Not sure what gears are in there now. I am looking to do a lot of off roading and pulling.

You will have to do both front and rear. Its usually around 1500 for both. Have someone who will back their work do it.

You have oversize tires?

Take a look at your window sticker if you still have it. The gearing should be listed on it somewhere if I recall correctly.

Also, you should decide what your end state is for the truck (if possible) so you can gear appropriately.

It'll run somewhere between $1200-1800 to get the front and rear gears changed, so think long and hard on this one. You have a 6-speed automatic with a very low 1st gear and you also have low range in the transfer case. I see no reason to re-gear unless you're wanting to run pretty big tires.

the axle code is on the door sticker as well

If I want to get more torque to the rear end what would be a good way to do so? My truck will not even spin the tires..I figured re-gearing would help!

What engine and what gears do you have?
