I went through the whole sales process - sales person knew I was planning to refi before I even got a bill. Get into finance office and they tell me I HAVE to make 4 payments. Well, I say OK, whatever and decide to do my own research later. Needless to say, I find out what is said repeatedly above - pay off anytime you want, the dealership will be penalized, not you. I may have made four payments so they could keep the incentive they get from Ford/FMC, but since they were not up front about it I didn't!

Yep, no need to wait even one month. No penalties to you even if you refinance on your way home from the dealer.
