As others have been stating over and over you don't have to make a single payment to refinance.

I dont understand why everyone has such complaints about FMCC. I financed through them for 1.9% no issues here.

Has anyone been able to use their financing rebate directly towards the cost of the vehicle?(as in the day they go in to pick the vehicle up and make full payment). This would be ideal as I wouldn't have to worry about them potentially trying to claim back some of the rebate as penalty for me paying off the loan early. Same question goes for costco rebate while we're on the topic.
Getting the rebate directly applied to the cost of the vehicle up front is so much better than waiting a month for it in the mail.

Good for you. If you read through the posts you would see that not everyone got that from FMCC when they got their 1000 rebate/credit, and can get lower and still keep the 1000. It simply depends on when most of them applied etc... It's not a problem with FMCC it is simply they found a lower interest rate somewhere else but still wanted the $1K

I could have gotten the 0% for 60 months, but it was more advantageous financially to get the most rebates applied, at a 6% for 72 months with FMCC, then walk out and refinance a 3.45% for 60 months with my CU.

I paid some interest to FMCC but that was minimal, and I got a good deal.

It is a matter of making individual numbers.

BTW, I never complained. cheers

This is exactly how the rebates are applied. You agree on a price, the rebates are subtracted, and you pay the dealership and drive away. The rebates are instant and you never have to worry about "not getting the rebate" if you refi early.
