Default Recommendation-Tail gate assist strut

As the title says.Looked at the DEE ZEE EZ on Amazon and the reviews seem mixed. Some love and some say it is junk. Anything better out there?

Cant speak to the DeeZee as havent used that brand item but just did a Barricade tailgate assist on my truck last week and it was easy to do and works well.

DeeZee here. Works great. 6 months now. Slower in winter but that's fine.

If you wind up going with the Deezee, make sure you do the Raptor mod (or whatever it's called) where you use a washer and locknut instead of the stupid nutsert they give you.

I've had mine for over 2 years with zero problems, as noted it gets a little slow in the cold weather but otherwise it's an awesome accessory.

I'm not sure what these tailgate assist thingies are, but then again, I've been drinking floridated water all my life.

I opted for the OEM part, fits behind the taillight.
6 months and no problems.

I've had the DeeZee for better than 2 years. I was lazy, and installed it with their hardware. Zero problem. As others mentioned, when the temps get down there, it does slow down, but not enough to really matter to me.
