Weird they only refer to 2011 to 2013's....isn't the 6-speed 6R80 in the 09-10's as well?

Dealer told me 2 days ago that I needed a new torque converter since my truck shifted into 1st from 6th and almost caused me to hit a semi on the highway.

Also, why is Ford replacing lead frames in the US and not Canada? Is the safety of Canadians worth less than Americans? Fords a joke.

there never was a lead frame recall, only an extended coverage on the 11 and early to mid build 12 MY,

Yes, that is what my 2010 has. My WAG is maybe they changed the programming in 2011 and those changes can’t be made to prior year trucks. I’ve read they made changes in 2011. I think it was something electrical but, can’t remember right now.

the 09-10 6R you could only get the lead frame with the whole main control assembly. starting in 2011 it became available by itself

That could explain why the 09s and 10s aren’t affected.

Ouch, hope they are covering the costs of the replacement.

Doing more reading, The fix seems to be an update to the PCM. I wonder how this is going to affect those with custom tunes and other 'mods'. Hmm

Following bc also curious.
Theoretically custom tunes should negate this recall as the shifting strategy has been changed?
