Recall FYI

Not sure why the mass hysteria. If your truck is not having any issues, don't sweat it. NOT ALL trucks will experience a problem, ford puts out a blanket coverage recall when a certain percentage of vehicles experience an issue.
The possibility of anything actually happening is more rare than normal.

How's she goin' eh?
The reason why I didn’t want to get it done. I wasn’t having symptoms. Normal shifting. My wife was the one who said get it done and err on the side of caution.

I wasn't having any symptoms, but I called the dealer to get it done and they said they were a month out for doing them. A 20 minute software update and they're weeks out? Lol
Anyways, took it to the same dealer today for an oil change and they called saying I had a reprogram recall and they would go ahead and do it while they had it. Oil change and recall done in under 2 hours.

My carfax app notified me there was a recall. And I finally got the letter in the mail. Was headed to Mitchell yesterday so I called the dealer. "Hey, I have a 2011 F150 5.0, and I got the trans downshift recall letter. How long does it take?" They said a half hour. "Well I'm running to town, any chance we could do it today? They said if you're here by 2:30, my guys leave at 3pm.
Well I got there at 2:15, and was driving away about 2:35. I flashed it back to stock prior, and put it back to level 1 eco and fixed my tire size after. Seems like it was good before, and good after. Didn't notice any big changes on shifting.
Did get to check out the new ford ranger in the showroom though. Pretty nice rig, but not worth 39k to me.......Looks better in person than in pictures online. 5 foot box on the 4 door.

scheduled my truck for today at 7am, in and out in 45 minutes. coffee, donuts and bottled water in waiting room. probably not the case but seems the shifts are firmer.

Had mine done today. No difference in the shifting.
