Yeah, I was told by dealer I had to wait 90 days before refinancing otherwise Ford would be sending me a bill for the rebate I was given. It sounded stupid and now I know.

I guess it shouldn't come as a shock but it's just unbelievable the lies they will tell.

We were told the some thing, the issue was that I messed up and admitted I was going to pay it off when I got the paperwork. I just wanted the extra FMC rebate, once they knew that they had me over a barrel and I had to prepay a little of the interest. It wasn't enough to bother me or start over so I did and paid it off a few weeks later. It is only to protect the dealers factory kickbacks. If I wasn't getting such a great deal I would have walked, I also made sure to put a huge chunk down right away to lower any interest charges.

I had told the finance guy the same thing. He also said he couldn't give me the $1000 rebate knowing we were going to refinance. The wife and I quickly looked at each other and said, "Next year.... we'll refinance next year". LoL
It's a good thing I saw this thread. I was gonna wait the 90 days. F that!

Or, if they're really crafty, they could just say "Ford will send a bill for the rebate" and not include the detail that Ford will be billing the dealership, not the buyer.

I am still fighting with the dealer, when I went to refinance my loan I went to the dealer with the Lien release to get my money back for my gap and credit life they told me I would be charged for the rebates. So I pulled out my contract and showed them that it says I ( the buyer) will not be charged if I pay my loan off early. They still said I will be charged. Told them they would be getting a call from my lawyer. They wrote out a check to me and I would not be charged

I had to finance $7,500 to get an extra $1,000 off the bottom line. Was told that I needed to make a minimum of 3 payments if I wanted to pay it off ahead of time.

So, my first payment was $7,200 which was made less than 10 days after purchase. Over the next 60 days, I made 3 more payments and had it paid off. Total interest I paid for the loan was about $20.

I refinanced as soon as ford had all my paper work. The dealership will not give me the time of day. When I went in for my first oil change they would not do it so I had to go to another dealer about 20 miles away to have it done

Purchased my vehicle on 30 June 24 , utilizing the FMC rebate, finance guy said make 5 payments then I wanted to refinance that would be the time. I looked at him said no problem. Then he wanted me to sign a $750 gap ins paperwork I said no thanks, he was not happy. Went to my CU on 3 July refinanced down to 1.99% down from. 5.99%.
