Reasons not to buy Ecoboost
#21
By the way, my wife just laughed and said she floored the acura about 5x today and said she was always afraid to floor the Ford because of the noises the tranny made.
On the tranny note, if I floored it once a week, it was ok. But this is Houston d@mmit. to get somewhere, you have to floor it. Otherwise ppl cut you off or wont let you over.

I would NEVER buy a Toyota. Weak frames, weak suspensions, ugly body styles.

Yes.......I read your Manifesto and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. I had an Ecoboost as well. I had engine issues and my dealer did everything they could to fix it to no avail. So I quietly asked my dealer for a trade and I bought a 2014 Ford F150 that has been flawless.
The Ecoboost was an amazing engine when it worked properly. Terrific fuel economy and very powerful I loved my truck but didn't want to roll the dice after the warranty was over. I didn't feel the burning urge to write a Manifesto proclaiming to the F150 forum that I was going to buy a POS Toyota TuRD Tundra because I had issues with my Ford F 150.
The good news is that you'll be twice as busy on the Toyota forums complaining about all the Toyota recalls......LOL

Regardless, it's hard to compare a Titan, which we don't know how it was loaded, to an F150. Most of your complaints are subjective too. There's noises from the dash and you didn't like the ride. I can find noises in any car. Not liking the ride comes down to preference. I for one have found GM's rides disappointing for years for a few reasons, but that's just me.

It's funny most of the reasons the OP lists why not to buy an Ecoboost aren't even engine related issues.

All the years of BS awards that were awarded because of their so called "glorious cars" was just Toyota sweeping their problems under the rug.

There are problems and every make has them. I actually owned a very problematic Nissan Titan...... so should I rag on them and call them all junk? Don't think so. I liked the truck...... but you couldn't drive the damn thing down the highway without the thought it would kill you. It wallowed like a fishing boat in a wake with a load on it. The front end would dip hard and pull the wheel in the direction you went if you were changing lanes. With a trailer on the damn thing was scary. Nissan tried to fix it and could replicate the issues but no avail. I just sold it and didn't bother saying a word. It was a 2010 Pro4X King cab..... and like I said.... otherwise I liked the truck.
I also had a POS 09 Ram that was the most gutless truck I have ever owned. It wasn't falling apart yet but then I sold it with only 7000 miles on it because I hated it so much lol.
I'm not a Ford guy.... brand loyalty is retarded......this is my first and likely last F150.... well new anyway. I bought the 6.2 and have zero use for any other powertrain they build....... and since that engine is now discontinued..... oh well. But I do like my truck thus far and it runs really well for what it is.
I do feel wanting to dump the thing though..... if you notice I did the exact same thing with 2 trucks of my own. If my Ford turns into some problem riddled heap it will go down the road too..... but I have a feeling it won't.
