Default rear Wheel well liners

made an appt to have these installed this am.....show up 5 mins early and they do not have the part in stock ....yet i ordered them on saturday and made the appt for today.

my question is:

parts person tells me no the wheels do not need to come off...

install person tells me yest they do..

I dont want them (dealer) touching my KMC Slides...dont need them scratching the wheels up...

so which is it wheels off or can it be done with them on ?

thanks

I did mine without taking the wheels off. I jacked up the truck a little bit just dropping the axle down enough to slip the liner right in. The whole process took about 30 min total..If you have the means do it yourself it's easy.

Mine also went in without removing the wheels.

More than likely the Ford shop manual states to remove wheels to install the liners and the shop rate is probably based on specific steps for the installation. The installation sounds easy, so if you don't want the dealer touching your wheels, would suggest doing yourself.

Anyone with access to a rack is going to take the wheels off making it much easier, but you don't need to take them off. Installed mine with the wheels left on.

Installed mine with the wheels on. Didn't even lift/jack the truck. Had the liners sitting in the sun a bit and they were pliable enough to simply slip in over the tires.

Took about 20 mins for the 1st one... because I'm an idiot.
Took about 25 for the 2nd... because when I crawled under the truck, to look at something, I banged my head on one of the leaf brackets(?) and rolled on the ground for about 10 mins cussing my butt off...

if you have bigger tires on those wheels then you may need to remove them (or at least raise the back end to allow the axle to drop away from the wheel wells like noted above). it is easy enough to do solo, so why not save on install cost and do it yourself.

Did mine in my driveway. Did not remove wheels. Did not jack rear. Took less than an hour for both. When I did this, I had stock 32" tires. Now have 34" tires, so I think I would have to at least jack the rear up..

Installed mine without taking wheels off or jacking the truck up and I have 33's on it. As long as it's warm and you can easily flex the liners you can get them into place. I wouldn't pay to have them put in at the dealer...they are a simple do it yourself install that may take 30-45 minutes max.

Did mine with wheels on but here's a tip leave them out in the sun for a few hours it's makes them easier to install.
