Default Rear Shocks

Hey guys and gals. I have an 09 f150 screw with 33 in duratracs and a 2 inch level on it. I find that while driving around town this thing is the roughest ride possible. Going over potholes, train tracks or other bumps result in what I refer to as wheel hop. When there should be one distinct bump the truck almost shakes 3 times as the truck regains its composure. Real annoying when on our streets as they are not very good in certain areas. My plan at this time is a set of bilstien 5100 shocks for the rear. Will this solve my problem of a rough ride at all? Also I would like to gain possibly a little height as well, would these shocks offer a lift to the rear of the truck giving me a slight amount of rake?

Thanks for the help guys and gals

5100s fix the wheel hop issue perfectly as it did with me, but they wont give you any added height.

You need a taller rear block, add a leaf, air bags, etc to give you some height.

thanks for the response. I will look at putting a 2 in block in at the same time.

is there any other good shock suggestions other than the 5100's that I may be over looking?

There are tons just depends on how much you want to pay. Bilsteins killed the wheel hop thing for me also and they were relatively cheap.

Rancho RS9000s. I was stuck on the Bilstein 5100s until I rode in a truck with them. I wasn't really happy with how they rode. The Ranchos are adjustable and you can make them soft as stock or just as firm as the Bilstein 5100s. Pretty much the same pricing as well.

The rears are fine, it's the fronts that are more stiff. I put on the rears first about a week before I had the front put on and it rode the same out back but just really controlled the Boyce and hop I would get going over washboard and dips and such.

so i am about to place my order for some Bilstien 5100 rear shocks. one more quick question. I have an 09 screw with a 2 inch level up front, my plan is to potentially add a rear block in time. so, for the time being with with stock rear height if i get the 5100 shock that is designed for lifted trucks, will I be alright running it on stock rear and levelled front?

i hope this makes sense.

The 5100 is designed for 2" lift in the rear so it can accommodate 0-2" lift.
