Default Rear Power Slider with defrost...NOT WORKING

Damn it...I guess I caught the defrost bug, I just bought the truck from an individual, and didn't notice until I had frost this morning. Push the button to do mirrors and rear window...nothing- no lights and no defrosting on the mirrors. I have the 100,000 miles power train warranty, but now have 57,000 miles on the truck, had a ford cert warranty that was 12,000 miles from when he bought it at 38,000 miles. That's expired...so now I assume I am **** out of luck and stuck paying the 700-800 for a new rear glass. Is there anything I can do to just run mirrors? Like disconnect the rear glass connection and run only mirrors? I need my mirrors to work and defrost in the snow. Anyone? 2010 FX4 crew cab

I believe it is all one big series circuit. If you can bypass the rear window, it might work.

Mine crapped out, but got it handled under warranty. Sorry for your bad luck.

I emailed ford customer service hoping they can assist. There are hundreds of posts and NHTSA complaints online so it's a well known issue

Thanks for posting about this, dykzeulb. Is our truck currently with the dealer? If not, I suggest getting that appointment scheduled. Then, please send me a private message with your full name, VIN, servicing dealership and appointment information, and best daytime contact number. I'll get this escalated up to the regional customer service manager; they'll be able to work with your dealership to reach the best possible resolution.

Im pretty sure you can just pull the fuse for the rear window. If I remember correctly, the mirrors are on a different fuse so your mirrors should still work.

I just found out other day when my rear defroger didn't work either. If your power slide window isn't close all the way your defroger or heated mirrors will not work. The slider has to be completely close.

My rear defrost and rear slider stopped working a couple months ago. I have 49000 miles on the truck and only have the powertrain warranty left. Would ford cover the window or am I screwed?
