Rear locker by pass
#21
I thought that newer trucks (2012 and up maybe) can do this? My 2011 can't but someone mentioned finding a dash switch from a newer truck and swapping it out. I assume the 2WD lock function is just part of the switch itself. The 20mph thing would be a deeper problem, i'm not interested in that.
I've driven a truck with a full time locker (army CUCV) and they suck while turning.

To clear up a few things the 09-11 F150 does not have the 2WD lock option from the factory. 12-14 trucks do have the upgraded switch that allows you to pull the **** out in 2WD. I presume newer generation trucks probably have the same feature. Some people have swap out the **** in the 09-11 trucks and reported success however it is still speed controlled and Advance track, ABS, and Other components can and will disengage it.

UPDATE
So I called the guys down at SPE who market a product to the 6.7 F250/F350 guys. They seem to have built a very simple and affordable product to do just what we are talking about on the larger trucks. Of course the rear diffs are different however the function and engagement is exactly the same. They feel very confident that this product will work on the F150 as well so I may sign up to be the dummy and give it a test go. Correctly they sell the diff lock kit for $50 off of SPE website and by other vendors. It uses a modified relay and from what they claim can be installed in 10 minuets.

If someone makes a useful product for F250-350 they should really try to sell it to the F150 guys because there are about 70,000 F series sold per month and most of them are 150's.

Interested in hearing more about the Super Duty mod though.

A company called BRTS also makes a product for the raptor to over ride the ELD inputs as well. From what they claim it can also be used on the F150. It is definitely more expensive in the $250 range.

The BRTS is sold by Aftermarket HQ in Las Vegas, and it does work on normal F150's with lockers. I'm actually pretty sure that the Larry mentioned back on the first page is the one making the BRTS unit.

Even cheaper then SPE u can use a standard relay. I had the SPE one on my 2015 F-250 and my biggest gripe with it was it threw service advance track and diff lights and error messages as well as if u left the **** pulled out and **** the truck off it would keep the diff energized and kill the battery. Poor design in my opinion. I simply worked up a standard 4 Post relay, hooked one pin to a ground, one to a constant fused 12V power, one to the fuse for the ELD in the under hood box (soldered it to the test point on the fuse) and another on to the upfitter switche. Since the upfitter switches are switched off with the ignition it would shut the locker off when the ignition was turned off thus preventing the battery drain. I still got the error messages so I went in and added a diode (electrical one way valve) to the ELS wire. Eliminations the errors. The set up allowed me to still be able to pull out the **** for standard ELD operation unlocking over 20MPh. But it if I flipped up the upfitter then I had a constantly locked ELD reguardless of speed for off road or mud/snow driving.

Care to share any pictures or details about your set up.
