Default Rear end shudder while turning

So last weekend I took the truck through deep snow (2-3ft) (truck was fairly pathetic in it). A few days later, I started noticing a shudder in the rear end, turning from low speeds or stops. Also a noticeable groaning while turning. It got worse over the week.

Read a bit and decided to do a rear diff fluid change with friction modifier. Ive driven about 100 miles since, and it's gotten better, but very noticeable still.

Any thoughts? Do I just need to give it more time, or did I mess something else up? Thanks

On my 2010 they replaced the clutch packs and added the friction modifier...twice.

Interesting, any idea if this is considered part of the Powertrain warranty coverage - I'm just outside of the 5 yr, but my dealer offers lifetime powertrain.

Spinning tires will burn up a clutch pack pretty fast, which will cause your shudder when turning, and will require replacement when they're shot. They are considered a powertrain item.

It was covered under warranty on mine.

It's the clutch packs!
Repaired twice on my '11 5.0 3.55LS under powertrain warranty. First at 40,000 km and again at 70,000 km. Service advisor said it's fairly common problem. If I have this issue again, I'll probably replace stock LS with Auburn or Eaton..........

Had the shudder in mine when turning hard to left or right from a stop. Felt like a tire was spinning but it was the clutches slipping. Had a ford mechanic say to put 2 bottles of modifier in the rear instead of one. Thats been a few thousand miles ago and all has been well. If I was you I would give it another bottle of modifier before I dropped the $$ on clutches.
