Burning oil smell

Look for oil dripping down onto something where it might burn, like the exhaust.

I don't have any spots on the driveway from any leaks. I did have one spot one time that had a liquid I couldn't tell what it was. I've had the truck for 2yrs and it only happened once.

What Spiky said. The leak may be so small it's not hitting the ground but burning off. If it's an oil smell vs electrical type smell I would look carefully at the back of the valve covers and then look up from underneath for any tell tale signs. Good luck.

i have the same thing with my 2013 ecoboost.....i saw a video from the fordtechmakeyouloco (?) guy and he was talking about all the leaks he saw on a well maintained 2013 f-150. the turbos actually leak small amounts of oil among other things....i'm guessing that is the cause of the burn smell on my truck. i've had that truck in the shop so many times i don't even worry about it anymore.....

If you have 3.5L Ecoboost, check the vacuum booster located on the back of the right cylinder head. This is a common leak point and will drip right on to the right exhaust causing the burning oil smell through the vents. Had the exact same thing on mine.
