Mine did this as well, they replaced the oil slinger, pinion bearings, axle bearings, and axle seals. It's been fine ever since

did the oil slinger tsb.. noise came back a month later :-(

yesterday, UPS just showed up w/ a brand new custom 1 piece aluminum driveshaft system thats now sitting in my living room... i hope it helps but im not holding my breath. im banking that losing the heavy factory steel cheap-o shaft may help.. it sure cant hurt anything being 1/3 less heavy & of better quality and no more "jump roping" of the shaft.

these folks in TX were fantastic:

How much did that set you back if you don't mind me asking? Definitely interested in seeing how it turns out.

That's not bad. Can you post up some pictures of it? I'm VERY interested.

Wow it must be a model year thing then. My 2013 King Ranch 4X4 short bed has a gorgeous aluminum driveshaft from the factory.

I had tsb 13-7-7 done twice on my 2011. Came back within 10 miles both times.

I had the first TSB, the tighten pinion nut 90 degrees done. Noise happened same day as I was leaving the stealership! Of course the service writer didnt hear it. It finally progressively got worse so I took it back, same said dealer performed tsb 13-7-7 claiming it was the mechanic who over tightened the pinion nut and not faulty parts. A month later, after listening to a roaring coming from my rear end I went to another dealer who performed the same tsb once again. Fast forward a few weeks, noise had returned, they ordered a new driveshaft. After the new driveshaft, it was noise free for about 2 weeks, now its back yet again. Dealer says they're contacting field service engineer about issues. We'll see.

I have a 2011 with a very pretty aluminum driveshaft as well. However I do have the click and clunk.
