Rear drums
My 2013 Ford F150 has rubbing on the inside of the drum of the rear tires little bit more on one side than the other. Intends to get louder and the cab of the truck as you go faster.. when I took my brakes off. I checked to see if there is anything rubbing inside. I did not take the rotors off. Anybody have a clue.?
Sounds like your rear brakes are out of adjustment. Pull up some videos on Youtube for adjusting the rear brake drums. The pads should just be touching the inside of the drum prior to engaging the brake. Too much and the shoes will drag in the brake drum. Don't know if this model has auto adjusters using the emergency brake but you should engage and disengage your emergency brake as well a couple times and try to use it when parking. Good to work that emergency brake system so parts don't stick.
I have a 2010 F150.. The rear brakes are both Disc (for normal driving) and Drum (for parking brakes only).
A while back the brake shoes inside the drums completely came loose and were rattling around inside the drums
The shop actually completely removed them..
but not before the shoes dislodged the "rotator ring" for the ABS (which is a press on cylinder around the rear axle).
So now I do not have either parking brakes or ABS but otherwise it drives fine.
It seems in Michigan which is mostly flat nobody ever uses parking brakes and the retaining clips just rusted away.
