Rear air bags Install - Firestone Ride Rite & Air Lift Compressor Combo
Finally got a chance to post some info & pics of my install:
I chose to go with the Firestone rear airbags (part no: 2525), because they mount Over the center of the rear leaf packs (vs. inboard of the packs), and then I chose to go with the Air Lift Standard Duty compressor (part no: 25850) with the "gauge pod" style gauge.
I purchased BOTH items from our sponsoring parts suppliers on here!
I also went with a custom A-pillar gauge Pod mount, custom built by a member on here: Bucketman, - Great job by him!... (though, Autometer just recently released their A pillar mounts).
I installed the compressor behind the rear supercrew seats. - I fabricated & welded a bracket to mount it, then bolted it down on top of one of the existing seat studs sticking up. (NO drilling necessary!) The compressor is not outside in the weather & elements and fully protected!
As discussed in another thread I commented in, the compressor makes a small vibrating noise when you want & need to air up but it is NOT loud at all, and only takes about 10-30 seconds to cycle it and completely tolerable when I need to use it.
I'm very pleased with the set up & they work great, just as expected!
Here's a few pics for others to see & give some ideas for their truck too.

Air Lift mounts their larger 5000 lb bags inside/in-board of the leaf packs. Now granted the upper mount is now under the frame..... But then they straddle Over the ear/tong of the OE rear lift block. In my case, I also installed a suspension lift with a larger block, which meant modifying the lower mounting points and that would just look kinda funky, in my opinion. Besides, I think that any air bag will work better being directly over the leafs...not "in-board" of them. NOW...their smaller 2500 lb bags mount directly over the packs...So I really don't know why they did not keep the same idea for their larger bags. ?????? Plus they use the same part number for the 2004-2014 model trucks versus making a new part number for our gen F-150's. So in my opinion, the Firestone definitely prevails in the mounting points ....& even looks a lot better too! Here's a pic of the Airlift "in board" mounting of the leaf packs... (note the funky lower mounting points): .

I installed Firestone Ride Rites on my 2010 Lariat with the Air Lift 72000 wireless compressor and seems to work good. However I need to run at least 10 psi in the bags or they bottom out badly on any bumps over a couple of inches. Truck sits about 2" higher because of this .
Curious to know if you have this issue with less psi in them?

Reefertek, how do you like your wireless system so far? I still like that system too! Pretty cool & sleek system as well! Still works good & no bugs or issues with the wireless?
