A "Re-Introduction"........
Yes..... I remember.....

Many of us were having issues of the SnapRest pulling out of the pocket and the door flying wide open and getting damaged.

You and I spoke back and forth and I even offered a solution, but you made excuses of costing too much money to make "new molds" and redesign it.

You'd rather us get damaged doors and rely on "silicone pieces" to get a better grip of holding your product in the door pockets.

You're relying a little too much on a "pressure fit" especially when temperatures can and WILL affect the "holding/grip".......

YES..... OF COURSE I REMEMBER!!!!

By the way, and for the record...I DO like It, actually I love it!....

BUT I FIXED YOUR PROBLEM .....AND IT'S STILL ON MY TRUCK TODAY.

So..... have you finally fixed this problem?
If not... buyer beware if you're at a gas station or parked next to another car and pull your door shut.... and it ends up in your hand..... Then YOUR DOOR SLINGSHOTS into another vehicle or a pole at the gas station, etc.... and you now have a damaged door!

Have you finally redesigned and fixed this for others?
Mine is now bolted in place and will NOT come out unless I unbolt it.

Nice product... I actually love it.... but horrible design if you're still relying on a "pressure fit" with pieces of silicone to help.

Please let us know..... and I don't want any of my fellow F-150 guys on here starting to get their doors damaged.

Here is my link to FIX YOUR product that I posted when you started having issues:

https://www.f150forum.com/f38/snapre...re-fix-334400/

Please let us know..... NO ONE wants their doors damaged.

I asked them the exact same question in one of the other threads they created about this reintroduction. Here's the reply. https://www.f150forum.com/f2/re-intr...9/#post6092451

Interesting!!!......

So instead of SnapRest fixing a very well known problem.... they'd rather start production on the 13th gen trucks so that THEY start getting damaged doors!!!

Great job SnapRest!!!!

You wait until the aluminum doors on those 2015-C trucks start getting damage....

SnapRest.... how about concentrating on fixing your problem first.... make a revised product that really works with NO fear of it popping out....THEN move on to new products.
And ones that will not take the risk of doing damage to our trucks....
?????????

SMDH!!!!!!!!!

You made a fix that requires modifying the mold. We have accounts of customers who just glued the item into the door pull cup, or using 3M auto tape after the door pull cup. We also have customers who report that they never had this problem of SnapRest pulling out. We will get around to modifying the mold eventually.

We did a lot of testing and what we've found is that if you just close the door a bit more carefully, it basically can't happen. Maybe we just got lucky with the couple trucks we tried, but there's a simple trick to it really. If you put your thumb underneath the SnapRest, not above it where your other fingers go, your thumb will prevent rolling the SnapRest out of the socket. It's not going to come up if you pull it sideways - it can only come out if you ROLL IT OUT OF THE SOCKET. By putting your thumb underneath it, you are preventing this from happening completely.

Here's a picture from a Dodge Ram (yeah I can already see the flames this is gonne get me) illustrating the principle.

PS. FWIW the 2015 retains access to door handle and you just close the door using the door handle. But thanks for worrying.

That sounds like Steve Jobs telling iPhone users they weren't holding their phones right during the whole antenna gate thing.

Why not just include the metal plate/bolt and have two sets of installation instructions? "Easy Mount" or the optional "Heavy Duty Mounting". Then you got your bases covered either way. Most guys can easily pull a door panel from a new truck and drill a hole in some plastic bits.

(open question to all) How about a modified door cam thing that has more than two positions, with something between "wide open" and "not even wide enough for a cat to squeeze through". Then the door wouldn't slam open.

Seems like there could be a market for that.

Me too. It was so practical and something Ford should have done to begin with.
