If you're doing a lot of suspension articulation ( like off-roading ) its logical that the grease would be getting plungerered out sooner, and replaced by ATF. I've used this stuff in all kinds of applications from engine assy to pins/bushings on the farm equipment and it's really good. It's like green molasses and clings like crazy. If you're willing to gamble $8 on a new attempt, I recommend it. O'Reillys usually stocks it and I think Auto Zone does too. Lucas Assembly Lube (I'd previously mis-identified it as Amsoil).

It's good enough though. $8 isn't a gamble if it helps. What I'm not looking forward to is cleaning off the splines. I can imagine that the Lucas grease and PTFE might not mix well (?)

Thanks for the recommendation!

You could just JB Weld it. It would stop the clunk. Might ride a little stiff though.....
Yeah I know , NOT funny!

There's 10,000 "comedians" out of work in this state, and you're trying to be funny?

I'm starting to wonder something though. When we pull the driveshaft, there's an ounce or so of tranny/TC fluid that comes out. I'm wondering if it isn't bypassing the inner TC seal and diluting the PTFE lubrication (?). FWIW, I always ramp the back end of the truck to pull the driveshaft so the tranny/TC fluid doesn't leak out. Just a thought here. But I'm thinking that there's something else contributing to this issue...
Did you ever try Neolube? I'll try and find the thread that talks about it, but looked promising. I had a slight bump 20k ago, but used Mobilgrease 28 and it hasn't come back.

EDIT
Found it
