Default RAPTOR Suspension

On my 2011 XLT I'm done with the drivetrain - Superspring, TrueTrac in the rear and RAPTOR Torsen in the front, now I'm thinking next year I do the suspension. I crawled under a customers 2013 Raptor with a tape, and it looks like the bottom arms and uppers are different, plus the cool-looking coil-over shocks. The rear looks the same.Anybody here tried to retrofit RAPTOR suspension on a XLT?Or would a 2 inch lifted Fox kit with coil-overs accomplish the same thing? What do you think?

You'll need raptor coilovers, control arms, tie rods, axles, and brake line extensions iirc. Running and off the shelf fox 2.0/2.5 coilover be a raptor swap are two completely different ball parks. Keep in mind your track width will be extended as well, so you may be looking into fenders too. Lots of threads on this, so check out war surfers post.

Yep - after looking at it, if a person wanted the 'floating' suspension of a Raptor they would be better off buying a used well-kept Raptor.

You can find raptor take off parts in good condition for a decent price. Most expensive part is going to be your coilovers. Much cheaper than buying a raptor.

I've just started the research, but depending on what to believe, if we're talking fenders, complete steering gear, etc., it would be a ton of work / expense for what you get. And since my XLT doesn't have a power steering pump, the steering gear isn't possible.I need to get my customers Raptor next to mine again and take a closer look with my tape.

Steering is irrelevant. All you need for 'steering' is the tie rods. There are plenty of EPAS F150s converted to Raptor suspension, some are even running 37s. The 2017 Raptor has EPAS, it's a non issue.

You could do a full suspension conversion for less than 5k.

I'm not trying to sway you one way or the other but it's not nearly as difficult as you seem to think. You could do it in your driveway over a weekend.

The real question is, what are your plans for the truck? If it's just a gain in ride quality, a nice set of 2.5's and full leaf pack with quality rear shocks would probably be your best way to go.

My truck is my everyday driver - and I'm not going to Moab to race offroad, I just think the more-travel suspension would be kind of cool.

I'm now thinking a 2" lift in the front, and the Stage 1 Fox suspension to level it out, and improve the ride.

Some fox 2.0's or f150lift boss coils up front and a 2.0 or bilstein shock out back should get you what you're looking for at a relatively decent price.
