Personally, I'm not worried at all. I use a real recovery strap, a Bubba Strap in particular. I've always been in the habit of throwing a towel on the strap, too. I'm never going to be in a situation where my truck will be so stuck that there would be a chance of this happening either. JMO.

Keep an eye on Ebay, that price is crazy. Got mine for around $28 shipped.
