Is there really much of a difference between the raptor exhaust and regular stock exhaust other than looks? If you want the dual setup look, I'm sure a muffler shap can add a Y pipe and split into dual side exit tips. Take off the resonator if you want a little more sound. Personally I think you could get a better look by having a muffler shop design the dual outlet setup. The raptor version looks like it hangs down too low, and looks a little out of place. I prefer mine to be tucked up closer to bottom of fender.

If you do the resonator delete and the raptor exhaust, it's a noticeable difference from stock, deeper for sure and louder when you stomp on it. But make no mistake, it's not gonna sound like a flowmaster or Borla catback. Far as the look, I suppose it's all personal preference, if you adjust it up it looks pretty good, otherwise I agree that it hangs way too low.

Ok just curious if I was missing something. Basically just remove resonator on stock 5.0 exhaust, and you'll get the louder sound also. The raptor exhaust adds the dual side exit tips.

Yeah I can't speak for those who didnt do the resonator delete at the same time (maybe someone can chime in)? I wouldn't think there'd be a huge difference though on its own. I haven't seen a cutaway of the raptor muffler, but I think it's a 2.75 (or 3") inlet, that splits into 2 1/4" dual exits? Dunno if there's any performance gain, I didn't feel any. In the end it can still be a pretty cheap mod, and you retain factory quality on all the piping, etc

The Raptors' mufflers are ...
  • 3" inlet (1)
  • 2½" outlet (2)

Dimensional differences I posted in the thread below might be helpful for fitment check. As to dual outlet hanging position, I agree higher would look better although where it is on mine matches that of factory equipped Raptor trucks.

In any case, I can attest that sound while driving and from outside the truck is definitely more robust. With stock exhaust on my 6.2L, I could hear muted rumble inside the cab but otherwise quiet outside. Now its sounds like it should!

Good luck finding a fresh low mileage system though, since supply of Raptor take-off parts seems has diminished nationwide based on frequent SearchTempest queries. You might need to place local C-L "WTB" ads and wait and watch as I did...
