Raptoid Grill Install

Raptoid Grill Install
My upper cap is way out of alignment with my fender. A pencil will fit between the cap and my fender on one side. The other side is way off also. Any suggestions ?
I think that removing the cap and filing down the five bolt housings on the cap to bring the cap closer to the fenders may work. The only thing I am worried about is breaking off the tabs while doing this
procedure.

That kinda sucks, esp after paying so much. Way to much. Hope you find out what's up or can be modded.
Looks like a hundred dollar China job.

I don't think you are going to find any videos, but it would be nice if there were. I just installed my grille 2 days ago when the temperature was finally near 70 degrees. I didn't want to break any of the tabs on the expensive original grille. I am happy to say none broke. The Raptoid grille was not too hard to install but you will want to cut down the 2 Torx screws on the end of each side or they will bust through the grill. Also make sure you install the top hood filler piece at the same time as the bottom or you will be removing the top filler and reinstalling it again. I didn't mess with the lights. To me they seem sort of pointless but they seem really straight forward. Watch as many F150 grille videos you can on Youtube since removing the original grille is about 1/2 the job and you probably want to remove it without messing it up. Also when removing some of the clips that get left behind in the hood you will want to be careful not to let any of them fall inside the hood. I spent an hour fishing one out! FORD DOES NOT SELL THEM! Apparently they are part of the $1000 Ford OEM grilles. So don't loose them and don't break them!

I also added some nice looking Ford carbon fiber lettering to the grille that matched my Tremor decals spot on. If you do letters too make sure you test a spot on your grille before cleaning it. The alcohol I used to prep the grille removed the grille paint and I had to have it repainted. I had the paint shop repaint it in black and I like the end results. I will take more photos showing the lettering a little better. I got them from a place called Rocky Mountain Graphics. Great service and the letters are licensed by Ford. https://www.rockymountaingraphics.co...-Letter-Decals
