Ashley,

I agree with jmxp69. My dealer has been back and forth with Ford Hotline and I am frustrated, I did however speak with the dealership yesterday in response to this thread about a reset and they did agree with K9-Ex about removing the battery cable to see if it helps doing a master reset. I am sending you a PM shortly with a history, my diagnosis and the info you asked for.

Thanks for responding, jmxp69. I'm not a technician, so I'm unable to troubleshoot for you. If you change your mind about taking it to a dealer, let me know and I'll lend a hand!

Not yet. I brought it in this morning to the dealer and spoke with the foreman who said I didn't need to reproduce he would take care of it so, I get a call at lunch time saying they ordered a TPMS module (I have remote start issues as well and it may be related as it seems the antennae is in the module?) and said they couldn't reproduce the climate control issue.

Upon my arrival, I asked the service adviser to please have the tech come out so I can show him the issue. When I reproduced the issue each and every time he was floored (it was a Kodak moment to say the least) and said he was going to contact the tech hotline and see what Ford has to say.

My climate control completely shuts down when using the remote start on a subsequent restart, the tech and adviser were totally baffled and shocked I could easily reproduce and yet, this problem happens without the remote start (putting key into ignition but yet it is sparodic and cannot be reproduced easily). My remote start will not start my truck at any distance above 75' and if something is in the way i.e. cars, glass, etc. I get far less distance and the remote start has a range of 325' according to Ford.

Waiting on case rep and dealer to let me know what other parts or testing needs to be done but at least my baby is back with me until they can resolve it. The fun now begins......

Interesting Bob_Mac. Mine does the exact same thing and I find it laughable. Keep us informed.

Mine has done the same, but it's very sporadic. I usually keep it at 72 degrees if I have it on. Sometimes the AC mysteriously turns on, sometimes it's off, jumps to 84 degrees, or all the way down to LO. No rhyme or reason, and no pattern so far for me.

Update 9/9/13: Just got off the phone with the case worker and she did confirm that the dealer has notified Ford of my issue (Climate Control) and stated that this behavior is not a common characteristic and was verified with other like vehicles, so good news there! The TPMS Module is on order to see if that helps with my Remote Start range as it appears the antenna is inside that module.

Ford is looking into the climate control issue so this may not be a quick fix and may take some time to resolve but at least they are working on it.

Ashley, thank you for getting this case started!

Bob
