Random HID install Issues Please help
OK so i have a new Bi-xenon kit installed in the 09 f150 . for some reason and at random times one light or the other does not fire up.. sometimes they both work and I cannot seem to narrow down the issue, i have already replaced the ballast's.... UGH help anyone????Jake
How about your wiring? Good grounds? Really good grounds? Let me ask again... REALLY, REALLY good grounds?
Seems to me if two ballasts do the same thing, it's not likely the ballasts. I'd check all connections and the grounds for the wiring.

possible i need to set the light to not auto start while starting the truck ??
if you read up on them it should say in the install directions not to have your lights on auto but to turn them on manually.
Using AutoLamps isn't recommended with this type of HID system. But you may also have poor connections at either the ground or the positive side. Solid connections are required to reduce the current lost due to resistance. Correcting these two issues should improve the light up issue your having, but even with good connections you will still have random issues. These aftermarket HID systems are junk.

I have the same problem intermittently on my 2011 Platinum. I too have verified grounds are good, replaced ballasts, installed the extra capicators kit and phoned HID Autovision Tech Support numerous times who is the supplier and has been great. They have researched and offered full refund which I declined.
It appears to be a voltage problem controlled by truck computer somewhere as it is intermittant and may be weeks between episodes. It is also varrying between which lights are slow to lignite. As suggested, I too no longer have my dash light switch set to "automatic". I manully turn them on/off each time which I admit is a PIA, however the brightness is worth the effort in my opinion...
Too bad Ford has not gone to HID as standard equipment on these to eliminate this drama. The headlights is my only dislike on the truck as stock headlights are patheticly week.
