Default Random car alarm

Anybody heard of the car alarm going off randomly? I was just sitting in the house and heard a car alarm going off and looked to see who's car it was. I seen it was mine and went outside to see what was the matter. No one was around and the alarm eventually stopped, but all the lights were still flashing- even the interior lights. So I unlocked it and started it up to see if maybe the battery was the problem. It wasn't. So has anybody heard of this? It was pretty weird.

We're the keys in your pocket? Sometimes the panic button can get depressed when you sit down.

I had a viper smart start on my old truck. I was taking an old girlfriend back to her house after a date. Dang alarm went off while we were in the truck. I couldn't get it to cut off either. She lived in this high class neighborhood and there is my truck siren blasting, lights flashing at 2am. So embarrassing, people were coming out of their houses and just giving me the "are you really that stupid glare"... Even the viper people couldn't figure out what caused it to go off while I was driving the truck.

I should add: it's a 2011 XLT 5.0L 4x4 with just a stock key fob. No remote start or anything else
