Rancho QuickLIFT Loaded received, install time (pics)
 
Got the Rancho QuickLIFT Loaded shocks in today. Anybody ever installed them yourself, or is it better to get a shop to do it? Also one of them has a much steeper slant than the other at the top of the shock. Is that normal? Thanks!

Not too hard to install, but the one that the top slanted on, need to have the spring compressed and the spring re-seated to the top, it just needs to be turned to seat the spring, once seated it should be alright .

I used a 5ft bar with a flat end to pop the sucker up in there, just be careful it doesn't slip and nick the paint and plant you on your ass lol

I did mine this past weekend. I did the drivers side 1st and it took about 2 hours because I was chasing down all the tools needed. The passenger side took a little less than a hour. The only issues I had was getting the upper ball joints loose. So, make sure you have a ball joint puller on hand or a board with a big hammer. When I was putting it all back together both ball joints spun and I thought I was screwed, but I used a 10mm socket to hold the bottom and then used a 21mm wrench to tighten them up. It looks awesome and the ride is much improved. You will need a 30mm and 27mm socket/wrench for the lower strut bolt and a lot of muscle. Sway bar link was a 18mm socket and the top nuts on the strut was a 15mm. Other than that, it was not too hard of a job. I took it in for a front end alignment on Sunday and it didn't need one.

Just send them to me, I'll have them installed...on my truck :). I'm jealous, I want these really badly but I'm waiting until my stock rubber bands to wear out, then I'm going to put these struts on with more aggressive larger tires and hopefully a tuner all at the same time.

I changed mine because I felt the stock shocks on my 2010 (37k miles) were a lot stiffer than my 04 and 08 f150s. I also put the Rancho 9000's on the rear. They took about 10 min on each side. I set all of them on 5 and the ride is much better. I had the fronts set on 3 at first, but the ride was to cushy for me.

The puller is key. It really speeds up the process of getting the upper BJ apart. The only tricky thing was we needed to get a cheater bar to get the lower portion of the shock into the the lower arm. For some reason it was off/twisted just slightly. We could have compressed the spring and realigned it but it wasn't off that much.

Just put mine on yesterday. I've never done anything like this before so it took about 4 hours. Most of that was for the first side. Once I figured it out the next side went fairly easy.
Does anyone know what a full set of oem struts/shocks sell for? I'd like to sell the ones I took off. Truck is a 2013 with 1500 miles.
