Rancho 4" lift or skyjacker 4 -6" kit?

Who has either of these kits?

Can you post some pics of what you have and also if you have aftermarket tires let me know what size you have on with these kits?

Also what did you pay for the kit, and what did you pay for installation?

Just trying to get an idea of what I should expect for pricing, so I don't get taken for a RIDE.

Thanks in advance.

Rancho 4 inch lift with 9000xl shocks
$2100 for parts through 4wheelparts minus the $500 rebate.
$400 for install and alignment at 4wheelparts.
Rides awesome, much better than stock did or with the level kit I used to have on it. Sorry the picture is that great. I can get more in a couple days.

Blue oval,

If you get a chance will you measure the bottom of the front fender to the ground so I can get an Idea of how much difference it is than the 2" level.

I bought some terra grappler 325 60 R20s and I am having terrible rubbing, even after doing some trimming. They are actually too wide, because like you I kept the stock 20s. I put some 1" spacers on to keep the off the upper control arm, but man they rub EVERY time I turn into somewhere.

I am trying to find out if a 4" will be enough or if I will have to go with the skyjacker 5" or maybe even the 6". I don't want to go too high, but don't want to get the 4 and it not be enough.

Thanks

tcarro2001 08-15-2010 10:25 PM

Also noticed that you have a superchips programmer. Does it help to regain the power loss from the bigger tires?

blueovalnotch65 08-15-2010 10:40 PM

Unfortunately I don't know where my tape measure is but I will try to find one tomorrow for you. And yeah I noticed the programmer helped bring the power back up. It lacks a little but not to bad at all.

Rancho 4" with 9000xl's in the front and 9000xl pro's in the rear.
4wheel parts..$1800 plus 500 rebate.

I have the Skyjacker 6" lift. I think it looks and rides great. I have 35" Procomps with 20" wheels. I will try to post pics this afternoon. I had it for about a year and a half. Sometimes my wife and daughter complain its a little rough while riding in the back seat. I chalk that up to the fact they could never be happy for me. The funny thing is every time we need to go somewhere they always want to take the truck! I did have to trim the front fender wells cause of rubbing. The total cost was 5100.00.

aquatikz 08-16-2010 03:03 PM

procomp has a 6" kit for $1,730.99 with ES9000 shocks or an upgraded shock kit for $2,655.99 with Mx2.75 Coilovers in front and Mx-6 in the rear.. very nice

Thanks....

They are 18's and I think the offset was -12 if I remember correctly. I can look it up if you need me to.

good eye...it is a nightrod. I would highly recommed it. It's comfortable and still has a ton of power. So far its been my favorite bike that I've owned (and the one I've put the most $$$ into accessories/custom work)

Blueoval, how do you like the rancho lift after a couple months? Any problems? I am looking at adding a lift to my 2010 fx4 and want to keep my stock 20's but add 35's and I have not been able to find a lift that will allow that besides the rancho. Any other pics would be appreciated. Thanks

Im very happy with it so far. the truck rides great. its not too tall but still increases the ground clearance and improves its look. Sometimes i think maybe i should have gone with the 6 but i wanted to keep the stock wheels and i wanted to be able to go into most parking structures. I've had tons of compliments and many people have asked what i did to get it to sit as she does. i dont have any more pics right now but if you send me a private message about it, it will help remind me to take some for u.

I have the Rancho 4" with 295/65/20 Nitto MT Trail Grapplers on 20" Monster XD rims. I really like this setup and I see others are going with the same. The top of my of my truck measure 81" tall and the bottom of the front bumper measure 22" off the ground. I also have a set of Amp Research power steps that help when getting in and out of the truck.

hey soonerscott, do you have anymore pics of your truck? i want to do that exact setup on my truck. I just bought the rancho and i'm torn between the monsters and hostage rims. It's kinda hard to see your truck in your pics...thanks

soonerscott,

I like the way that sits with a little squat. Do you have anything other than the rancho 4 inch lift? what did the final price come out to for just the lift, schocks, etc.? and what kind of mpg's are you looking at with the 35 nittos and 4 inch lift?

sick truck tho

VEECON 01-28-2011 08:13 PM

what level/block set up did you have? looks like it sat perfectly level.

CHP lot?? Truck looks great. I like the stock wheel look...nice grill too. What grill is that?

hallenfe 01-29-2011 12:34 AM

blueoval are those the same tires on the leveling kit as the rancho lift. if they are did they rub at all. i have a 2 AS level and readylift rear blocks on right now. kind of looks like the same set up that i have in your before pixs.

Sorry. Off the top of my head, I can't remember what the cost of of it was. But I can tell you the mpg was bad off the start. Somewhere around 12.5-13 mpg. About 6 months ago I added a superchips cortex programmer to adjust for the 35's and to reprogram the shift points. Now I'm averaging 15 mpg. Worth the money.

Nice truck. Seeing your truck made me get a rancho too. Nice job.

EVS Motors Performance 04-10-2011 01:38 AM

I have the Rough Country 4" Lift, it is only $1,299 RETAIL with rear shocks!!

Arklight 04-10-2011 04:24 AM

Damn, the 4 inch lift pics in this thread have me wanting that rather than a levelig kit or Bilstein shocks to level. I have a 2010 FX4 myself ad love it....would just like a little more height for the look. I am stressing over the gas mileage though for a 4"/6" kit with larger tires.

alta17 05-11-2011 10:34 PM

how would 33's look with a 4 inch lift?

chris861 05-11-2011 10:48 PM

Too bad the 4" won't work with the 6.5' beds...

Do 4inch lifts seriously not fit 6.5 ft beds. Aren't most f150s 6.5?

SportTractoF150 05-12-2011 01:08 PM

Most F-150's nowadays are supercrews, and most supercrews have the 5.5 ft beds. With that being said, I see absolutely no reason why the 4 inch lifts would not work on a 6.5 ft bed truck. The fronts are identical, and it's either just blocks or new leaf springs that give the lift in the rear.

alta17 05-12-2011 06:18 PM

Yeah thats what I was thinking as well. Thanks for the conformation. Any idea on what brand to get for a 4 inch lift. I'm deciding between a rancho, rough country, or skyjacker.

chris861 05-12-2011 08:42 PM

If I recall correctly, Rancho specifies that the lift will not work on trucks with two piece drive shafts. I think all screws with 6.5' beds have two piece drive shafts. I guess it throws off the angle of the drive shaft or something.

Can we still fit in a parking garage with the 4" lifts? Rancho or rough country

I put a 6 inch pro comp on mine and replaced the coilovers. It rides much better than factory and clears 35's easy!

Depends on the parking garage. I can fit at the local airport's garage but I cannot at the hospital's.

DJacobs 06-28-2011 09:36 AM

The tires are 35x12.5x22 and the wheels are 22x9.5. Not sure on the offset. Go to 4 wheel parts and they are the 22x 9.5's on there... They do not rub though

Hofmanns4rj 08-09-2011 12:47 AM

In response to an earlier question on this post. The Rancho 4" lift will work with a SCrew and the 6-1/2' bed. The trick is to order the two piece drive staft lowering kit from Procomp which you can buy as a stand-alone item. Not sure why Rancho has not built one but it's a simple lower bracket for the joint in the drive shaft where it attached under the bed of the truck.

That white platinum is the mother of platinums. Nice truck man! My brother in law just got a 12 platinum, gonna show him your truck and he will want that kit asap. How much did you pay for that pro comp 6in kit?

SoCalMX 10-21-2012 08:17 PM

Subscribed! Im thinking a 4" lift with the factory 4x4 rear blocks on my FX2 to give the pre runner look! Going with Camburg upper arms, King coilovers and rear piggyback shocks! Also want Fiberwerx front fenders that are cut a few inches higher than stock and are flared 4" wider over stock!
