I would do away with them completely(which I am for a little) but my wife is only 4'9" and has an issue as it is getting in.
As I understand it, any reseller has them shipped directly from Rampage. The Rampage customer service guy told me that he checked and their entire batch of nerf bars are defective. I'm hoping that they don't continue to try to sell them.

I asked when they'd get a batch in that was not defective - the only answer I received was "not this year".

Wow, these sound like a cheap import. A whole batch is bad and they'll have to wait for another container to arrive.

They're made in China - it said so in big letters on the box.

I will say that if the lag bolts were of the proper length and the angled "bump stops" were done correctly as (J-Didd150 pointed out) then I'd really like these steps. However, Rampage will need to prove to me that those items are corrected before I buy another set to install.

I bought a set of these from 4wheelonline.com also. They were back ordered for 2 months and I just received them. When I pulled them out of the box I was displeased to see that the bolt was only 1/2 inch. I had contacted rampage and was told this problem was fixed. Instead of a bolt, washer, and locking washer they now come with just a serrated hex (lock) nut. Despite this issue, I went ahead and installed them on my truck. It was a pain in the rear, but we were able to get them on. Once tightened down, they feel secure on the truck and there is no flex to them. Hopefully they will hold up in the long run. Hope this helps for people still looking at getting these.

That's frustrating. I traded many emails with Rampage and ultimately the serrated nut option they sent you wouldn't work for me. I'm rather surprised that they are calling the issue fixed and shipping with those nuts. I'm glad it worked for you and that they feel secure, but I won't be going with the Rampage brand again.

I Rec'd my rampage stirrups, passenger side was badly damaged, both end of the tube were peeled back. I suspect while on a pallet a forklift hit it. Didn't have the serrated nuts either. Called rampage, they were excellent to deal with in my case. They arranged to have another set sent to my napa supplied and guaranteed it was a new item with serrated nuts. Should have them in the next few days. I'm going to be grinding the welded bolts off on either end and have modified a set of Iron Cross brackets that will work quite well, so they're are attached both at the pinch weld and into the body mounts. Seems like a lot of extra work, but I do like the rampages the best, looks wise. They also felt and looked as if they were well built. My friend, who's a welder/metal expert/expert at anything mechanical said this set up should be rock solid. Fingers crossed!!!

I think i would have been okay w/ that until i test-fitted the boards and saw the second issue, the boards did not bump up to frame of truck to help w/ support and flex of boards when stepped on. since i had a gap of 3/8", the boards flexed quite a bit. They look great, just too many issues for me to want to permanently install them. Now the search begins again.
