Ready for this? I just drove a 2014 FX4 with 17 miles on it ,took it for a 10 mile drive came back and shut it off.

Here came the message. It could be because it's been sitting for several months and it was a short drive but dammit.

So it looks like the 14s may have it too. I'm thinking I now have zero faith about a trade.

Now in all fairness when I started it , it was very slow to turn over and the dealer had website pics of some snow on the ground around it. Drove it 10 miles then came back.
Anyone care to comment on how long it could take to charge while running? I sat a few minutes before pulling out.

Well, I don't have to trade if I'm going to end up with a 14 that does it too. Guess I'll just sit and wait like the rest of the group. Until today I had not heard of a 14 showing itself.

I think the issue with the '14 is just that it was sitting for so long. It would take a couple of hours to charge a battery at least. I would guess about an hour to get rid of that message. The fact that it started after sitting on a lot for however long (more than 3-5 days) might indicate that it doesn't have the same issue as your truck.

I know it had sat a long time because I could hear a bit of timing chain rattle for maybe 3-4 seconds while oil pressure built up.

On my truck though I've had it sit 2 1/2 weeks and it still started , a bit slow on crank but meter still showed about 11.8/9v before I cranked it. Mine has never gone dead or almost dead like some, just the saver message 5 seconds from key-off.

They are the ones that are. Putting the batteries in and not searching for the bigger issue my warranty ran out last week now of I let my truck sit longer than 3 days I have to jump it

no way would I pay 5 grand more for a year newer truck, unless they throw in the 7 year warranty and some accessories.

On another note got the ecm? updated a week ago monday, battery saver came back by friday battery reads 12.4 volts. Yesterday I disconnected the amp clamp on the ground cable message went away, I reconnected it later the same day and it's still gone, I'm hoping for a intermittent connection at that plug.

I purchased a 13 XLT 3.5 EB last month that had been on the lot for 10 months. After signing the paperwork and driving it 9 miles home, I was sitting in the truck for around 4 minutes checking out the stations on the SiriusXM, when I got the message.
I immediately started her up and drove for 30 minutes non-stop. I haven't seen the message since. I spend around 30 minutes of my lunch daily listening to my Ipod or Sirius with the ignition switch on accessory.

I'm planning on going back in the next few days and take it for a few hours.
